The slow craft
Local clay, direct from the quarry.
All clay sourced within 80 km of the studio — stoneware from the Judean Hills, terracotta from the Negev margin. No commercial clay bodies.
Every piece thrown by hand, alone.
One potter, one wheel, one at a time. Each form is thrown on the same 1962 Shimpo wheel that opened the studio.
1 260 °C, single salt-glazed firing.
Salt glaze fuses to the clay at temperature — what you feel under your hand is the glaze itself, not a coat applied on top.
